Manchester City’s Lauren Hemp, Chelsea’s Lauren James and Manchester United’s Ella Toone have been nominated for the PFA women’s young player of the year award.
Frida Maanum of Arsenal, Jessica Naz of Tottenham Hotspur and Maya La Tissier of Brighton & Hove Albion are the other nominees.
Hemp, the 21-year-old forward, won the award last season after scoring 10 goals in 23 matches across all competitions.
The England international improved her record during the 2021-22 campaign, netting 16 goals in 31 matches as City finished third in the Women’s Super League and lifted the League Cup.
James, 20, made seven appearances for WSL winners Chelsea, having moved from United in the summer.
Toone, 22, scored seven goals and registered eight assists in 22 WSL appearances for United as they finished fourth.
Maanum played 21 times for WSL runners-up Arsenal. The 22-year-old started 10 matches, making 11 substitute appearances.
Naz, 21, made 16 WSL appearances for Spurs, while Le Tissier started all 22 of Brighton’s league games.
All the PFA award winners will be announced on June 9.
