The Boston Celtics lost Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals to the Milwaukee Bucks 103-101, despite nearly mounting a 14-point comeback in the fourth quarter. After the game, Celtics coach Ime Udoka said the late-game foul on Celtics guard Marcus Smart was a “poor call.”
“I’ll teach my guys to flop a little more,” Udoka said.
Smart was fouled from beyond the arc while seemingly attempting a 3-pointer. The officials decided the foul was on the ground before Smart began his upward motion. Udoka said the officials told him Smart was making a sweeping motion on the final shot foul.
“You can’t say that’s a sweep, he’s going into the shot,” Udoka said.
The Bucks are up 2-1 in the series. Game 4 between the Bucks and Celtics is on May 9 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
