Electric car market has witnessed tremendous growth over the past decade. The EVs’ sales will increase double-fold in the coming years as several new products have been lined-up across different segments and price range. In the next 4 months, there will two major launches in the Indian electric vehicle space – BYD Atto 3 and Mahindra XUV400.
Upcoming Electric SUVs
BYD Atto 3
BYD, the Warrant Buffet’s blacked Chinese EV marker, is ready to roll out its second offering in India. Called the BYD Atto 3, the electric SUV will hit showrooms on 11th October 2022. In global markets, the model is offered with two battery packs – a 49.92kWh and 60.48kWh. The latter one is claimed to deliver a range of 480km (as per NEDC standard) on a full charge. It accelerates 0 to 100kmph in 7.3 seconds. The Atto 3 has been packed with lots of advanced goodies including a premium 8 speaker Dirac HD audio system, a 5-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), tyre pressure monitoring system, multiple airbags, hill descent control, electronic stability program and traction control system. Mahindra XUV400
Mahindra & Mahindra has confirmed that the XUV400 electric SUV will go on sale by the end of January 2023. Its bookings will begin in the first week of Jan. In the first phase, the Mahindra XUV400 will be launched in select 16 cities. Powertrain setup of the model includes a 39.4kWh battery pack and a front-axle mounted electric motor. It delivers a claimed power of 150bhp and 310Nm of torque. The new Mahindra electric SUV can do 0 to 100kmph in 8.3 seconds, thus making it the fastest in its segment. It’s top speed stands at 150kmph. The carmaker claims that the XUV400 offers a range of 456km on a single charge as per Indian driving cycle – MIDC. More details here…
